"When you drop a pebble in a pond you get ripples, soon the ripples fill the whole pond”- Bruce Lee

That is a quote from Bruce Lee. The pebble represents your passion, an idea, anything that can inspire others. While the pond represents those who are affected by the pebble. Your pebble!

One day I was thinking about this quote and realized that sometimes the pebble is never dropped in the water. Sometimes we don't try our best or at all because of fear and/or laziness. Maybe some other things can contribute but that's what I was thinking of at the time.

So in those instances we tend to drop the pebble to the closest thing to the water, the sand. Keep in mind I was mostly thinking of the ocean at the time. I'm not sure how many ponds have sand, but it's the same concept. A body of water. Back to the story...

When we half-ass things or are just afraid to take that leap of faith and chuck that pebble into that water we do the next best thing. Drop it in the sand where it can either be
A. swept up by the tide if in the right place, eventually causing some ripples. But not nearly as much as it has the potential for.
or
B. Stay there not affecting anyone or anything. Forgotten in a way.
